As the inaugural flagship event of the International Alliance of Academicians (IAA), this Forum convened over 300 global thought leaders—including Nobel laureates and industry titans—to establish a premier platform for cross-disciplinary dialogue and scientific innovation.
Empowering Hong Kong as a global hub for I&T excellence
The Honorable John Lee, Chief Executive of the HKSAR, attended the Forum to congratulate the establishment of the IAA, affirming its role in uniting global scientists. To align with Hong Kong’s vision of becoming an international I&T centre, he announced that the HKSAR Government will launch a HK$3 billion Frontier Technology Research Support Scheme to fund groundbreaking basic research driven by world-class academics.
AI for Health & Future City: Navigating the frontiers of innovation
Themed “AI for Health & Future City,” the Forum featured profound insights from a distinguished assembly of global experts, including IAA Chair Prof. Nancy Y. Ip, Nobel Laureate Prof. George F. Smoot, and Fields Medalist Prof. Pierre-Louis Lions. Together with a cohort of world-leading scholars and visionaries, the discussions explored how technology can tackle major societal challenges:
